What’s new?

Access to MacEwan Activities

  • For courses and activities provided by MacEwan. 
  • Available to all employee groups – FA, MSA, OOS.
  • $1,500 for eligible employees (an increase from $1,100).
  • Aligned with the fiscal year (April 1 to March 31) and does not roll over. 
  • Does not need manager approval unless time off is requested for the activity. 
  • Casual employees are now eligible for this fund if they have worked 500 hours in the last year.
  • Griffins Athletics and theatre event tickets are eligible (purchase up to 8 tickets per event, taxable benefit).

Career Development Fund

  • $750 for eligible employees per fiscal year (does not roll over, April 1-March 31).
  • Continuing employees can request to combine the following year’s allocation and access $1,500 in one fiscal year.
  • All continuing MSA and OOS are eligible (formerly available to only MSA and OOS Band 5 or lower).
  • Term MSA/OOS are eligible if their term is greater than 24 months.
  • Manager approval is required and is built into the application workflow.  
  • Casual employees are now eligible for this fund if they have worked 500 hours in the last years. 
  • Travel expenses, exams and memberships are now eligible.
  • Proof of completion is required for courses funded through the Career Development Fund and must be submitted within 30 days of the course end date.
  • Completion documentation can be a grade or a certificate of attendance.
