Alem Tesfay

Alem Tesfay is a third-year Bachelor of Commerce student majoring in Management with a double minor in Marketing and Political Science. You may have seen Alem on campus working at the Makerspace or participating in various events around campus. In addition to working at Makerspace, Alem is also the co-founder and Vice President of the Chess Fellowship of MacEwan University.

Over the past three years, Alem has served on the Students’ Council and participated in multiple committees, including the Health and Dental, Audit, Awards, and Leadership and Review committees. These experiences have given Alem a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our institution, as well as the needs and concerns of our diverse community.

Beyond the campus, Alem has also volunteered for the City of Edmonton Youth Council as a Youth at Large member, gaining a basic understanding of Robert’s Rules. Alem’s involvement in various organizations has provided valuable leadership and communication skills that will be beneficial in representing the interests of MSA members.
