Bill 71, which recently came into effect, directs employers to give employees paid leave to allow them to receive a COVID- 19 vaccination without loss of pay. As such, continuing and term employees may take a leave of up to a maximum of three consecutive hours to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. This leave can be used twice for those receiving two-dose vaccines. The leave will be paid and does not require any special coding in PeopleSoft. Managers should be flexible and employees should provide reasonable notice when scheduling vaccination appointments. Further information is available on the MacEwan portal or from your manager.
