July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020 Collective Agreement

In an effort to be environmentally friendly, the 2019 – 2020 Collective Agreement is only available electronically. Thank you for thinking twice before printing.

The negotiations process this year has been radically impacted by the COVID-19 situation as well as changes from the provincial government.  The current Collective Agreement remains in full force and effect until a new agreement is ratified by MSA members (see Article 3.0.1 of our agreement).

MSA Health & Wellness Fund

The program enables members to apply for funding in the amount of $100.00 to cover a portion of a health & wellness related item. The MSA Board and Health & Wellness Committee members review this fund on a regular basis.

The following criteria must be met in order to access these funds:

  • Applicants must be employees who are eligible for Sick Leave, Weekly Indemnity, and Long Term Disability;
  • Applicants must have worked a minimum of one (1) year prior to applying;
  • Item must be listed as an eligible item (see form);
  • Item must be for members personal use;
  • Proof of purchase must be submitted at time of application and must be dated for the current fund year.

Only one (1) application per member per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30), not to exceed $100.00.

To apply, download and fill out the MSA Health & Wellness Form.

Workforce Engagement

Workforce Engagement is an initiative of MSA and MacEwan University to change the culture of the performance review process. Workforce Engagement (WE) conversations are shifting the focus from performance management to performance development. WE conversations focus on two-way communication, ensuring clarity of expectations and goals between all parties, recognizing achievements, identifying professional development needs and clarifying support required for employee success. The intent is to build trust and commitment between each Employee, their In-Scope Supervisor, and their Out-of-Scope Manager by ensuring clear and ongoing communication. For more information, please see Article 32 of the Collective Agreement and visit MyPortal>Departments>HumanResources>WorkforceEngagement.
