I have proudly represented the MacEwan Staff Union as a member representative since 2023. During my time on the board, we have achieved several major outcomes, including the legal restructuring of the MacEwan Staff Association into the MacEwan Staff Union, the 2024–2028 collective agreement, and renewed strategic planning to ensure our union is well positioned to serve our members. I have also advocated for our members in the MSU Professional Development Committee and worked to expand the professional development reimbursement fund and professional development opportunities available to our membership. I have worked at MacEwan University in Campus Services since 2019, and I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Throughout my studies and my career at MacEwan University, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to union participation, and I hold a deep interest in labour relations as well as the broader labour movement. I believe my developing skills and experience have allowed me to serve our membership well, and I am confident that, as Secretary, my focus on communication and attention to detail would be put to good use in representing our union. I believe strongly in standing together to protect our collective rights, interests, and goals, and I approach challenges with optimism. I believe in the importance of empowering our members, and I am strongly committed to our community. I will work to uphold the values of accessibility, diversity, inclusion, equity, and trust in service to all members.
I am eager for the opportunity to continue serving our union and contributing to its strategic direction as Secretary.
In my free time, you can often find me walking the trails of Edmonton’s beautiful river valley or bird-watching with my wife.
