I began my journey at MacEwan University in 2002 as an accounting co-op student. What started as a temporary placement turned into a rewarding career, and I was fortunate to have the opportunity to remain with the university after my co-op term ended. Over the past two decades, I have been a proud member of the Financial Services team, serving in a variety of roles and gaining valuable experience along the way.
My involvement with the union began in 2018 when I joined the Board as a Member Representative. I served four terms in that role before deciding to take on a new challenge as Treasurer. As a Member Representative, I had the opportunity to learn more about the important role unions play in supporting employees and advocating for their interests. I especially enjoyed connecting with members, listening to their perspectives, and doing my best to ensure their voices were reflected in the work of the union.
Over the years, our union has undertaken significant work to modernize our structure and strengthen how we serve our membership. Being part of that evolution has been incredibly rewarding, and I am proud of the progress we have made together.
As I step into the Treasurer role, I look forward to expanding my knowledge, contributing in a new capacity, and helping ensure the union remains financially strong and well-positioned to support members now and in the future. It is a privilege to serve alongside such a dedicated Board, and I am excited for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
